Casper’s
My friend David and I met for lunch this last Friday at Casper’s. There isn’t any other place in Springfield like Casper’s. Located in a shiny quonset hut on Walnut just west of Campbell, Casper’s is a Springfield institution. -
College Station 14 – Hollywood Theaters
Ok, this isn’t a restaurant review as such – although we did some eating here the other night. Last Monday night my wife and I decided to head downtown to take in a show at College Station. -
Bambu
Steve, Dana, Danny and I met for lunch at Bambu this week. I’ve been to Bambu at least once before but it has been a long time. Bambu, located in the Fremont Shopping Center is one of only two Vietnamese restaurants in town that I’m aware of. -
Rocco’s Pizza – Republic
Danny, Steve and David and I met for lunch at Rocco’s Pizza in Republic. Rocco’s was suggested by my nephew’s girlfriend who lives in Republic and said that her family loves the pizza at Rocco’s. -
Billy Bob’s Dairy Land – Branson
Steve has been talking up Billy Bob’s Dairy Land for the last several weeks and even has suggested a lunch-time trip to Branson for a burger. -
Ocean Zen Pacific Rim
Last week my Uncle John and Auntie Jay were in town visiting from Pennsylvania and I wanted to take them and my Mom out for a nice Dinner. John likes seafood – so my first thought was Ocean Zen (OZ). -
Pizzaro
Another new pizza place opened up on Republic Road this year. Steve, Danny, Kelly and I tried to go there for lunch one day but didn’t realize until we walked in that this is a take-out only place. -
Rosati’s Authentic Chicago Pizza
I watched Rosati’s open up on the east end of the Fremont Center a few months ago. I stopped by one time and discovered it was a take-out only place
