I will have to try this place soon, but I am intrigued that you mentioned that La Fiesta Grill is out of business. I'm pretty sure they just recently offered a half-off special through dealchicken. That makes me wonder if they were just trying to raise some cash to pay off a few debts before closing, never intending to honor the half price specials. If so, let the dealchicken buyer beware, I guess.

I always get pizza every lunch and I'm enjoying it. Anywhere around you can search for a good food with different specialty of taste and you will get used to it. Happy eating everyone :)

My wife and i just at at CL last night in Shreveport, LA. What a great meal! We ordered the seafood ceviche, What a treat! Then we had a version of fish taco with mahi mahi and wonderful purple cabbage slaw. For desert, the Tres Leches Mango Cake was unbelievable. Wonderful place.

We only tried this place once. Everything was fine but that is about it. There are so many choices for mexican food in springfield and this one dosent seem to stand out as anything special. With all the great choices out there you can kind of decide what style of maxican you want and have several choices. If you think you want say a chili rehano, The best is Purple burrito. If I want enchladas Primas is good. Tacos at the villa are great if you were raised in springfield. Everthing is good at Celito lindo. I dont know why anybody thinks they can just serve basic mexican and make it in this town.

My wife and I decided to try this place in our relentless search for good springfield BBQ. We got there just after 11:00 so had no problem snagging one of the 4 tables. The seating area is small so you kind of feel like you are eating in the Kitchen. Strange but we liked that because we could visit with the cook and owner while they prepared our food. They were out of the ribs so we chose the brisket sandwich I orderd onion rings my wife got the beans. The food came quickly and the portions were large. The onion rings were hand breaded and very good. The beans had meat in them and were cooked down to a nice consistency. The meat was dry so it was sliced thin. This is not real BBQ ( BBQ defined as slow cooked over indirect wood fire) I dont consider cooked meat with sauce barbecue. That being said we still enjoyed our food and will go back to try the ribs. The owner was very nice and even brought us a free sample of thier in house made sausage to try. These are real nice folks and you can tell they have a real passion for this. Prices were good too.

As for whoever said they didnt think their food was actually "cooked in the restaurant" you are totally wrong! My boyfriend works at whole hog, and it is cooked fresh and for a very long time in their kitchens actually; 12 hours. Its not the best barbeque I've ever had -- of course, its Arkansas (the only whole hog I have tried, there are a few others outside of arkansas I think). If you want amazing bbq/amazing food in general, I definitely wouldn't waste my time critiquing restaurants in Arkansas -- but I do enjoy the pretty good food for a decent price. Its a nice place that is decorated with numerous awards and trophies, such as memphis in may, and the service to everyone is always friendly and fast.

Personally, I suggest going to a Bone Daddy's if you want "fabulous" bbq, but whole hog is still yummy!
