Neighborhood Pizza Cafe

I’ve been hearing about this place for a while from others but was waiting for the time & opportunity to present itself.  That happened recently when friend Danny got a new job up north and we got together for lunch.

We arrived towards the end of the lunch hour and found a pretty busy place even at that time.  Pizza was our goal and we decided to split a medium supreme ($11.59) on their traditional crust (thin & crispy is the other option).  Other choices include a variety of ‘specialty’ pizzas (menu is available to view on their Facebook page) along with a good selection of pasta, sandwiches and salads.

We found one of the only tables open and sat down.  Drinks are self-serve.  While we waited, we observed others really enjoying their pizzas and sandwiches and were looking forward to ours.

Medium Supreme

The pizza was delivered to our table and looked darn tasty.  The cheese was nicely browned around the edges.  The crust was crisp enough to hold itself up even though each slice was loaded with toppings and cheese.  The ingredients were good and the overall taste was very good.  We had been debating on whether a medium was enough pizza for two hungry guys – but with 4 good sized slices each – we did not leave hungry.

Décor is sort of typical strip-mall and nothing fancy.  From the ordering counter you can see the action in the kitchen.

Service consisted only of someone bringing your food – but the staff were all friendly.

Neighborhood Pizza Café had some good pizza and if they were in my neighborhood I would probably make it over with some frequency.  That said, my favorite pizza in town is still Minsky’s which also happens to be much closer to my house.
