Danny and I did lunch at Valentine’s last week.  I’ve been here for both lunch and dinner in the past and had favorable experiences.

Danny arrived before I did and had a table towards the back of the restaurant.  Our server came over quickly and took my diet coke order. 

Perusing the lunch menu – the Chicken Valentine ($8.59) caught my eye.  I’ve had this before and remembered liking it so I thought I would get it again.  It comes with rice and a vegetable – but I asked for extra vegetable (broccoli) instead of rice today.  Danny had the French Dip sandwich served with fries.

Our lunch was brought in short order.  I liked the Chicken Valentine – it was a ½ breast coated in bread crumbs and parmesan and baked.  The chicken was tender and moist and the coating was nice and crunchy.  The broccoli was cooked well – but would have been better with some seasoning on it (lemon-pepper or butter & garlic would have been nice).

Danny seemed to like his sandwich pretty well.  Hopefully he will add his thoughts.

Most lunch items are less than $10 – but if you want a salad – that will cost you an extra $2.25 (House) or $3 (Caesar).  Many of the items on the lunch menu are offered for dinner as well.

Dinner prices are quite a bit higher – with entrée’s ranging from about $10 for the chicken strip dinner up to $38 for prime rib & lobster.  Most meals are in the $15-$25 range.  Salad comes with most of the beef entrée’s but is extra with seafood, chicken and pasta dishes.

Service was ok.  Our server checked on us often, but I had to ask for refills on my diet coke when it was empty – they were not offered.

The décor is very nice.  There is plenty of room around the tables and nice booths along the walls. 

Overall, I liked my lunch at Valentine’s.  I’ll be returning sometime for dinner and a more thorough review.
